I have always wondered, whether is “better” Fitness or Crossfit?
- Which is more fun to photograph?
- Which is more fun to take part in?
- Which sport fits you better?
I have just created both Crossfit and Fitness photoshoot with two girls and I want to show you pictures from the photoshoots so that you can judge yourself in this matter.
For me they are both great, I have been shooting a lot of fitness people over the years so in a way fitness is more “my field” but when I was shooting Vaka in her Crossfit workout I started to want to take more pictures like that and do more pictures of the fit population of the world.
I asked some people that I know some questions about this:
- How often did you compete in Fitness and which category did you compete in?
Girl #1 – Competed 3times in model fitness
Girl#2 – I have competed 3 times in Iceland in model fitness + 172cm and once in Norway
Boy #1 – Competed three times. Competed in Classic Bodybuilding. Twice in third place and once in the first place.
- How long did you train in CrossFit?
Girl #1 – I am in Crossfit now and have been for the last 1,5 years
Girl #2 – Started crossfit training in January 2019
Boy #1 – I’ve been training crossfit now for over 3 years.
- What was the main difference between training in Fitness vs CrossFit?
Girl #1 – Crossfit is about being able to do more while fitness exercises are about shaping your body in a certain way
Girl #2 – Both lifting but there is more drive in crossfit exercises. In crossfit we use more pole and so is a lot of exercise that pulls up the pulse. In weightlifting there is a quieter tempo where we may lift 4 sets with minute in between and there is not as much burning as the pulse often does not go as high, there we use poles, weights, pulleys and all kinds of devices

Girl #2 – Difficult to choose between – I mix weightlifting and crossfit because I like both fun. But currently, crossfit is a bit more favorite
